Purple Martins

Purple Martins are Common in Western Washington from Mid/Late April-Early September spending it's time in the air eating flying insects like, Houseflies, Sand-flies, Snake-flies, Midges, Carpenter Ants, Male Yellowjackets, Honey Bees, Spiders in air, Damselflies, Lady Bugs, Grasshoppers, Leaf-hoppers, Crane Flies, Lacewings. Milkweed Borders, Dragonflies Mosquitoes, may dip in a Body of water for water similar has of Barn Swallows.
Habitat
 Is developed areas, agriculture areas, wetlands, open water, estuaries, clear-cuts, open areas, and open forests near PM boxes.


Behavior

Purple Martins forage almost entirely in flight, both low over water and quite high. In bad weather they occasionally forage on the ground.


May do a Pre-Dawn song by the months of May-Jul
